This week we will cover some non-turning figures found in our first dance, Tips of My Fingers using a practice dance I choreographed to the same music. We will first demo this dance and then jump in to teach the figures in the dance. Demo of "Tips of my Fingers Non-Turning Figures". There are only three turning figures we need to learn that we will need to learn next week to dance Tips of my Fingers.
We need more figures: The most common Non-Turning figures we will learn tonight: Apart Point, Together Touch, Waltz Away and Together, Balance Left and Right, Canter, Dip Center and Recover, and Thru Face (Side) Close. Next week we will learn the most common Turning figures. Once you learn enough figures, you'll be able to dance the dance and new dances will only require learning a few new figures. In the table below, you can see what figures you need to know for each waltz.
